Please note that there will be a Breton piping workshop in Hamilton this coming Saturday 24th of March 2012.
This workshop is being held to coincide with a French dance day (daytime workshops and evening dance "petit bal") so pipers can play some tunes during the day and then dance at night!
Tune selection is linked to traditional dances (eg Andro, Laride, Derobee). Sheet music and audio samples are distributed in advance of the workshop to allow people to become familiar with the music before the actual day. Tunes are suitable for anyone who can play Highland pipes or small pipes.
Details of the venue:
Date: Saturday 24 March 2012; probably 10.30 AM until 4.PM
Venue: Hamilton Caledonian Society Band Hall. (Dance event will be at St Stephen's church, Melville)
Cost: to be confirmed but will be nominal.
Food: BYO lunch but tea/coffee/biscuits will be provided.
